Pumpkin Patch Kids
A good time was had by all (in spite of some of the facial expressions seen here).
We almost didn’t make it this year. Last year’s fall activities were epic, and a lot to live up to. (Here’s a recipe for Sweetly Spiced Pumpkin Seeds, from that memorable year). This year, the days are just tripping over themselves disappearing. But, if one tradition continues, this is the one to choose. Sliding down Cottonseed Mountain never gets old. Even for the old folks (picture not included).
This is the “cat who ate the mouse” face. He was diving head first, and even surfing standing up, and pretty durn proud of his new moves.
Whatever it takes, man.
This tram was painted orange and shuttled people to a distant parking lot. We called it The Pumpkin Train and jumped on (never mind that our car was right in front). It was late and the driver may have been a little tired because he did a bunch of weaving and speeding and general risky behavior on our behalf. It was the highlight of the day (no, seriously. I told you to ignore the facial expressions, okay?)
Thank you, Oma’s Pumpkin Patch. We really love your down-home, low-tech, big-time fun. See you next fall!
